Robin Hood

Robin Hood attended Forrest Park Community College and University of Missouri at St. Louis, where he majored in Music Performance, String Bass and Russian Language Studies.

Robin has been playing and teaching string bass and electric bass guitar for 30 years to private students. He has worked as a volunteer with the Carlmont High School Jazz Band in Belmont and Redwood Symphony in Redwood City. He has been on the Stanford Jazz Workshop Faculty for over 20 years. Robin is currently on the faculty at The Community School of Music in Mountain View, CA, teaching jazz and classical string bass and bass guitar.

Robin has worked professionally as a jazz musician since 1971 in St. Louis, Missouri, in Los Angeles with Spike Jones, Jr. and as a road musician in the western US and Hawaii before moving to the Bay Area in 1977. In the Bay Area he has worked with Breezin', Adlai Alexander, Margie Baker, Joe Burton, the Ernie Heckscher Orchestra, String of Pearls, Tuxedo Junction, Med's Mood Swings, Blues Cadillac and his current group, the Hoodwink Trio. You can see and hear Robin and The Hoodwink Trio at such venues as Savvy Cellar Wines in Redwood City, CA.

Robin is a member of the International Society of Bassists and the International Association of Jazz Educators.
