Though the band is based in Aarhus, the roaring bass lines and ethereal melodies of electric guitars and fender rhodes are deeply rooted in the understated melancholy of rural Denmark. The biggest, Danish jazz blog, Jazznyt, has called Røgsignal “living proof that the young jazz scene in Denmark is thriving” and Politiken, the biggest newspaper in Denmark, thinks that the band is “both master musicians and magnificently meditative in their expression“.
Røgsignal has released two EP’s and two well-reviewed full length albums. The band has been touring all over Denmark for many years, and recently expanded their territory with a popular showcase in Paris as Denmark's exclusive contribution to the ‘Nordic Jazz Comets’ program.
