Sandra Cartolari Singer/Composer

I was born in Buelach (Switzerland) in 1965, since then I've been singing (professionally since 1988) and lately also composing.

In 1990 I enrolled at C.P.M. in Siena to study with Tiziana Ghiglioni and met pianist Giovanni Ceccarelli. We've been playing together ever since.

Over the next few years I have studied with: Tiziana Ghiglioni, Sheila Jordan, Cynthia Utterbach, Shawnn Monteiro, Rachel Gould, Nat Adderley, Attilio Zanchi, Benny Golson, Lee Brown.

In 1997/98 I attended the “Bernstein school of musical theater” directed by Shawna Farrell.

I have sung in various line-ups at many festivals: 1990/2004 “Sandra Cartolari/Giovanni Ceccarelli duo” 2001Jazz aus Italien;Jazz und Weltmusik im Englischen Garten; Salon de la chanson im Bellevue; Teehaus in Englischen garten (Berlin), 1994/95 “The Swing Alligator” (with Franco Valussi, Glauco Venier, Slatko Kaucic and Andrea Massaria) 1994/96 “Kassandra Band” (with Stefano Calzolari, Stefano Cappa, Adriano Molinari) - first prize at the first “ Festival Canoro Citt
