Scott Whitney
The ChristmAcoustic and ChristmAcoustic II CDs feature twenty tracks of beautiful acoustic solo guitar playing. Performed as an acoustic jazz & classical guitar orchestra, each of these Christmas favorites feature just one guitar playing all bass, chord, and melodic parts at the same time. While listening, you'll hear a combination of classical, jazz, and latin-inspired styles that the Bay Area's largest newspaper, the SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS, selected as one of the top holiday CDs of the year, and that the ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER strongly recommended to its readers.
Scott's newest CD, Guitjazzathon, is now available on Spinario Records. The eleven works on this CD offer a sweeping example of Scott's varied interest in guitar playing/composition. Tastes of funk and classical guitar, along with a steady stream of soothing jazz, join an impressive group of Latin/bossa-nova/Spanish-styled songs. Beginning in late June 2003, radio stations (Smooth Jazz, NPR, College, etc.) began 'spinning' tracks from the Guitjazzathon CD, already eliciting positive feedback from listeners throughout the country.
Finally, adding to a roster of artists that include Al Dimeola, The Gypsy Kings, Steve Stevens, and India Arie, Scott Whitney is an official endorsing artists for The Godin Guitar Company.
