Sidiki Camara Group

Sidiki Camara is an unique percussionist and artist from Mali who moved to Norway in 2010 and has since then started working with some of the greatest within Norwegian Jazz. They are Sidiki Camara Group.

They just released the album NAKAN on Wingman Music. The album features Sidiki Camara on various instruments and the Norwegian jazz heavy weights Audun Erlien on bass (Mathias Eick/Bernhoft), Bendik Hofseth on saxophone (known from Steps Ahead and from working with John McLaughlin, Tony Levin, Django Bates, Rickie Lee Jones, to name a few!), Jacob Young on guitar (released on ECM!) and André Viervoll on piano (a seasoned freelancer from Norway)

Sidiki Camara is considered one of the leading percussionists from Mali. He was from early on in his career sought after by Toumani Diabate, Oumou Sangare and Habib Koite and has continued to play with Mamady Keita.

Sidiki has been making a solid impact om the jazz scene, sharing the stage with the likes of Bill Frisell and Frisell’s “The Intercontinentals”.

He has toured the world and played the great venues and festivals like Stockholm jazz festival, Montreux, North Sea, Rio De Janeiro og San Fransisco jazz festival.
