Silke Matzpohl-filmcomposer

Silke Matzpohl is an international award-winning composer and multi-instrumental performer based in Los Angeles and Munich. Her music blends melodic symphony writing with modern ethnic textures �" from European to American raga. The result has been described as "a unique and very deep going. "

Beside that she started studying piano and composition at the university.

In 2002 she was invited for the prestigious ASCAP Film Scoring program. In November 2007 her work was honored with the Film & TV Music Award in the category outstanding female composer.

Her scores for "Life with mountainview " and "Awakening Arthur" (starring Robert Miano) were honored with a gold medal at the Park City Film Music Festival in 2008 and 2011. The Music for "Awakening Arthur" was also awarded at the LOS ANGELES MOVIE AWARDS in 2010.
