John O Forseen

Born and raised in Minnesota.Went to school at the U of Minnesota,my teachers were Steven Chenette and Charles Shlueter I graduated and went directly into the Army, where I studyed with Chuck Geyer ,Mel Broiles and Carman Caruso.Spent part of my tour in Chicago with the heralded Fifth Army Band.At that time, I was studying with Chuck Geyer. Because,of that I was offered a job with the Chicago Brass Quintet.Had to leave Chicago because of Army. I went to The West Point Band in New York to finish my tour. After the Army I did pick up work in Mpls, which included jobs with The Lake Harriet Symphony, the Minnesota Opera, the Minnesota Orchestra, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, and Plymouth Congregational Church.Mean while on the other side of music I was working with The Sam Bivens and the New Experience,Stan Hagesacks Big Band,Irv Williams Big Band and Jim Tolcks litle Big Band. Then I moved to Florida which is the retirement destination for many great musicians.Ironiaclly they have a very good music scene here I got to play with such greats as,Al Klink,John Laporta, Leon Merian,John Lamb,Al Steward,Dick Hyman,Bob Hagart,Sheryll Mcannes,Greg Alman,Ira Sullivan,Greg Nielson,Dan Mcmillion,Kenny Drew Jr.,Chip Mcneil,Mark Gould ,Steve Gould,Gary Deary, and this list goes on and on.I left Sarasota then went on the road with Circus Gatti. The benefits on this are a very steady paycheck and getting to conduct Big bands chock full on great players. Some of the players were,Walt John,George Wirth,Med Flory, Carl Fontana,Joe Davis, ect ect.I got off the road due to health problems and came back to Florida.
