Spherical Agenda

SPHERICAL AGENDA is a jazz-rock fusion band consisting of some of the region's top

musicians. Hailing from Cincinnati, OH, their sound not only draws from the cutting edge of

today's fusion, but also honors the reckless abandon and pure energy of groups like Tony

Williams Lifetime, Mahavishnu Orchestra, and Return To Forever.

Their original compositions and arrangements feature inventive and exploratory melodies over

intricate grooves and a rich harmonic background. Featuring Matt Wiles on bass, Brandon

Coleman on guitar, Ben Tweedt on keyboards and Devon Leigh on drums, Spherical Agenda is a powerhouse band bringing serious grooves, intense solos and immense energy.

SPHERICAL AGENDA is currently releasing singles on all major online platforms throughout 2019 and 2020. Showcasing the bands diverse sonic palette, these tracks represent a fearless band with a unique voice. 'Arcane Wisdom' is a wild metric ride complete with nested tuplets and polyrhythmic explorations, featuring an expressive Rhodes solo by Ben Tweedt and a space-jazz atmospheric guitar solo by Brandon Coleman. 'Renewal' is a grooving melodic tune featuring a special guest saxophone solo Brian Donohoe from fellow fusionistas Progger. 'T.L.B.' is the latest single, exploring hefty amounts of drum-n-bass textures and well as a rich tapestry of synthesizers.

“…what truly makes these guys stand out from all the rest is the POWER they project through their music…From the very opening note to the closing bar, these cats just JAM the song with notes you never even imagined existed.”

-Dick Metcalf, Contemporary Fusion Reviews

“These guys write and play this stuff like they invented the genre!”

-Ron Esposito, NPR Cincinnati

“Spherical Agenda skewers the idea that a current fusion band must traffic in either retro-sound fetishism or blazing- lick tedium. Thoughtful and genuinely dramatic music.”

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
