Stefan Gonzalez Stefan Gonzalez

To sum it up in as little words as possible I have contributed heavily in the d.i.y. punk/hardcore and improvised music communities since the late 1990's. This has resulted in my playing with bands (past and present): Akkolyte, Target Rats, Waking Terror, Terminal Dysentery, Rat Salad, Just Another Consumer, and Cojoba(Puerto Rico by way of New York). I have also collaborated in the avantgarde/jazz/ improvisation world with musicians/bands such as Yells at Eels, Luis Lopes' Humanization 4tet, Douglas Ewart, Scott Looney, Damon Smith, Mark Taylor, Peggy Lee, Paul Plimley, German Bringas, Famoudou Don Moye, Ernest Dawkins, James Harvey, Remi Alvarez, Rodrigo Amado, Floros Floridis, Alvin Fielder, Leena Conquest, Sabir Mateen, Matt Lavelle, Dave Dove, Tim Green, Sara Ruth, Mike Maxwell, Mike Chamy, Ben Billington, Andrew Young, Mike Forbes, Chris Parker, Oliver Lake, Shelley Carroll, Scott Bucklin, Armando Martin, Alexander Bruck, Itzam Cano, Gabriel Lauber, Tatsuya Nakatani, Curtis Clark, John Irabagon, Elliott Levin, Daniel Carter, Sonia Flores, Jason Jackson, Carl Smith, Derek Phelps, Faruq Z. Bey and the Northwoods Improvisers, Micro East Collective, MFM, SubKommander Big Band and the list goes on.........This music has taken me from Dallas to the East Coast, West Coast, Mid West, and Southern United States as well as to Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Portugal, Spain, and Poland. Within everything I play there is a necessity to assert myself intensely although I try to follow no musical dogmas

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
