Stefano Scippa Palleni Stefano Scippa Palleni

Italian born and resident in Bologna, Stefano plays differernt styles including jazz, world, classical, modern sacred music based on early sources, film music, interdisciplinary performances and solo concerts. Formerly a self taugh he later graduated at the Conservatory of Bologna. His saxophone tone is distinctive for its purity, warmth and dark full sound. His playing is volatile and lyric, rich of expression and details, while the character of the compositions is varied, being modern, abstract or either traditional, embedded with an archaic flavour. Stefano toured Europe and United States, played and studied with great musicians such as Steve Lacy, Markus Stockhausen, Tristan Honsinger and Joe Giardullo. He shares collaborations with artists involved in disciplines other then music like theatre, dance, poetry, film and video-art. He believes this unlocks new ideas that stimulates fresh creativity. His music has a synesthetic quality that led him to develope a personal language on the soprano saxophone. Beside being a musician he's also a professional Psycholgist and Art-Therapist.

Nato a Bergamo, risiede a Bologna dove vive e lavora.

All About Jazz needs your support

Donate
All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
