Stephen A. Maxwell

Steve Maxwell Jr. grew up in the Chicago Suburb Wheaton Illinois. His first instrument was piano; he started playing drums by age 13. He has an eclectic back round, and believes that having skills in many different fields helps to give you a unique perspective and insight into all activities.

He was fortunate enough to enjoy an extensive education in music and loves to perform in many different genres. Drum set is his main instrument, but many other percussion instruments such as vibraphone are often played. Composition has also been a major focus for Stephen.

Career wise, for about 4 years after college Stephen was involved in the food industry, working his way up from washing dishes to running a small company. Recently an opportunity opened up at his Father’s drum shop to manage the Illinois operation. We focus on the needs of jazz drummers and high end and vintage collectors. Our store is located at 1163 East Ogden Ave. in Naperville Illinois, 60563. We also teach lessons and throw events such as the Midnight Ramble Jam Session every first Saturday of the month from 9:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

Steve is absolutely ecstatic to be able to have a career in the music industry. Follow the events that we do and come and be a part of our Illinois drum operation with all of its varied musical activities!
