Credentials/Background
I am product of the District 68 band program under the direction of Bryan Stovell - the same system that produced Ingrid Jensen and Diana Krall. After high school I went on to study and earn a degree in an unrelated field. Several years and one corporate right-sizing (layoff!!) later and I came back to my first love of music. I attended and graduated from Malaspina University College's Jazz program from 1999 until 2002 studying with Bryan Stovell and Mike McDonald. In the years since earning my Jazz Diploma I have had the opportunity to study privately with Neil Swainson, Don Thompson, Misha Piatigorsky, Ross Taggart and Hugh Fraser. I have been teaching privately for 10 years on both the electric and string basses. My first love is jazz but I am well versed in rock, pop, funk, blues, country and classical.
