Stuart Hawkins

Born in Australia to British and Malaysian-Chinese parents, Stuart grew up in a musical family in Hong Kong and started to play the trumpet at the age of nine. He became passionate about jazz and blues music as a teenager. Stuart holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of Oxford where he was a soloist with the Oxford University Jazz Orchestra (OUJO) and also played in smaller groups alongside some of the top young jazz musicians in the UK.

Currently based in Thailand, Stuart has performed and recorded with Thai and international jazz and pop stars including Koh Mr Saxman, Neung Jakkawal and Malene Mortensen.

Stuart’s debut album 'And What If I Don’t' was recorded in Bangkok with some of the country's most exciting jazz musicians. The album features Passakorn Morasilpin on saxophone, Kom Wongsawat and Darin Pantoomkomol on piano, Titiwat Treepob on bass and Pong Nakornchai on drums.
