Suzi Silva

Born in Portugal on April 9th 1984, she immigrates to Canada at the age of 6. At the age of 11 she makes her debuts singing Fado. In Motreal she presents herself for the first time at a local Fado house called “The grandfather of Fado”. She returns to Portugal at the age of 12 and there she begins discovering other musical genres. She sang pop, rock, soul, funk, Portuguese traditional, Brazilian music, bossa-nova, African music and then there was jazz… While she attended the Architecture program at Coimbra University she also began her music studies at the Coimbra Conservatory, in classical singing. When she finished her degree in Architecture she devoted herself to musical studies and formation in Jazz. She joined “Sítio de Sons” (Coimbra) music school and later the Jobra Conservatory (Albergaria-a-Velha). She returned to Montreal in 2013 and in 2014 entered the Jazz Interpretation program at University of Montreal. Singer, performer and songwriter, she moves between the eternal passion of Fado, the gentle elegance of Bossa Nova and the creative freedom of jazz, and her very own style is a mixture of all of these influences: fad'AZZ.
