Szymon Wójcinski

Szymon Wójciński Pianist, improviser, composer, arranger, moving in the extensive stylistic spectrum, incessantly exploring music from classical music, through the jazz to a contemporary improvised music. He attended music schools, also improved his skills on numerous musical workshops (among others in Chodzież, International Jazz of Platforms in Łódź).

Participant in numerous musical events in Poland and Europe (among others along with the Emergency group at the Nordischerklang festival, concerts with Sylwia Białas and H-P Salentin as European Jazz Ensemble). The initiator, the leader and the participant in many musical projects (among others Emergency). At present he is preparing to record an album with own, solo material and developing new group: Wójciński/Szmańda Quartet (with his brothers, Ksawery and Maurycy, and Krzysztof Szmańda as a drummer). The first album of this band is supposed to be released on spring 2016. Cooperation (among others): Ksawery Wójciński, Maurycy Wójciński, Krzysztof Szmańda, Paweł Postaremczak, Wacław Zimpel, Robert Rasz. Sylwia Białas, Halina Zimmermann, Marek Kądziela, Hans-Peter Salentin, Jarosław Bothur.

As a member of Emergency band: - finalist of Jazz Juniors Festival (Kraków 2002), Bielsko-Biała Jazz Blizzard (2003). As a member of Jarosław Bothur Quartet: - laureate of the FAMA Festival (2005), European Musical Integrations in Żyrardów (2005), As a soloist: - finalist of the Instant Composer Competition during the Transatlantic Festival in Poznan (2014, 2015). - laureate of FAMA Festival (2015) - III prize winner on "Gramy nad Prosną" Festival (Kalisz, 2015)
