Taunia Soderquist

Taunia Soderquist is an award-winning vocalist that the Boston Globe has called a “powerful vocalist with a warm, rich sound.” Terrance Blanchard, Phil Wilson and Herb Pomeroy call Taunia a “wonderful vocalist.”

Taunia is the rare full-time vocalist working in various settings throughout Boston, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and more. Influenced by both jazz greats (Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Clifford Brown) and the soul divas (Aretha, Chaka Khan, Gladys Knight), her approach blends hard swinging with a deep, bluesy and soulful sound.

She has shared the stage with Wayne Brady, The Persuasions, The Bobs, Sean Altman, Vance Gilbert, and many more.

In addition to her performance schedule, she is also an active private vocal coach and clinician, and can frequently be found in the studio doing session work.

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
