Taylor Haskins

Taylor is a member of Nels Cline's “Lovers” orchestra, which released an album on Blue Note Records in 2016. He is also a founding member of Guillermo Klein's “Los Guachos” and has toured & recorded with many world-class ensembles, including the Richard Bona Group and the Dave Holland Big Band, with whom Taylor won a Grammy award in 2005 for his contributions to the album “Overtime”.

Taylor has also been composing and producing music for media for over 20 years. He worked full-time for 6 years as an in-house composer for the cutting-edge music production house tomandandy, composing & producing music & sound design for numerous major commercial campaigns, films, & art installations. While at tomandandy Taylor also helped develop and field-test proprietary music generation software that employed artificial intelligence-based algorithms to compose new music. The software eventually received a U.S. Patent.

Taylor holds degrees in music from the Manhattan School of Music (MM, 1996) and the University of New Hampshire (BA, 1993).

Originally hailing from the woods of New Hampshire and having thrived as a musician in New York City for over 20 years, Taylor now resides in the Champlain Valley region of New York's Adirondack mountains.

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
