The NICE Jazz Trio

The NICE Jazz Trio is a quiet blending of vibes, jazz guitar and acoustic bass that delivers interesting and satisfying sound to listeners in a variety of sophisticated performance venues. Known for its delicate presentation of song form standards and established jazz themes, the NJT's music is appreciated for its easy-on-the-ears approach.

Appearing at wineries, fine restaurants, coffee houses, country clubs and special events across northern Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania, the Trio maintains a busy performance schedule. The ensemble was honored to be nominated as Best Jazz Act in the 2000 Cleveland Music Awards.

The NICE sound was first presented on its initial recording, "Introducing The NICE Jazz Quartet"(#NJT-010) several years ago. Included were vibe/guitar/bass tracks along with vibe/guitar/bass/drum tracks.

The group's sound is also captured on its excellent CD, "Nice, Very"(#NJT-1) which print critics called a highly recommended disc of straightahead jazz at its technical best. This release showcases performances of "Days of Wine and Roses", "Everything Happens To Me", "Gone With The Wind", "In Your Own Sweet Way", "My Romance", "Polkadots and Moonbeams" and more.

The Trio's third recording, "Nice, Too"(#NJT-110) features playing with passion, precision and empathy according to reviews. This disc includes exclusive NICE arrangements of wonderful themes by Jimmy VanHeusen, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Johnny Mercer, Lerner and Lane, Louis Bonfa, Jerome Kern and others.

During 2005 the highly-regarded "Nice And Welch"(#NJT-324) recording was released introducing the warm and satisfying blend of trio and voice together for the very first time. Look for these fine compact discs in the music department of Barnes and Noble Booksellers, Borders Books and Music and Joseph-Beth Booksellers.

The NICE Jazz Trio has enjoyed performance opportunities at Playhouse Square Center, WEWS Television, Blossom Music Center, Jacobs Field, NightTown Restaurant and the Tri-C JazzFest. The NICE sound has been included on radio stations WCPN-FM, WKHR-FM, WCLV-FM, WRMR-AM, WJTB-AM and Public Radio International's "Jazz After Hours".

Thank you for your interest in The NICE Jazz Trio. We believe most in music that swims in the mainstream.
