Tony Pence

Born in the metropolitan Atlanta area in June 1977, Tony's drive and passion of the percussive arts was acknowledged early by his mother and father, as he began playing drums at the age of five.

Tony was self-taught until he reached the age of eight, and then began receiving formal instruction. Initially learning rudimental snare drum, he later progressed to the drum set and also learned mallet and hand percussion.

Tony actively participated in his school music programs to which he performed with the symphonic concert and marching bands competitively and received the opportunity to perform for two governors of the State of Georgia. After graduation, Tony focused on teaching as a percussion educator.

Tony is a member of the Percussive Arts Society; a volunteer for the The Rhythmic Arts Project; a MusicFriends music education advocate; and is endorsed by Vic Firth drum sticks.
