Named one of Canada’s Best Jazz Musicians Under 35 by the CBC, Trevor Giancola continues to perform and tour as a guitarist, band leader and educator. Since its 2016 release, Trevor has been promoting his debut album, Fundamental which has been described as “one of the most assured and interesting jazz albums of the year, with an incredible cast of supporting musicians” (cbcmusic.com). He is a guitarist whose “deep feelings for music are obvious in the breadth and emotional resonance he brings... playing with innate grace and beautiful, loping lines, Giancola plays wise beyond his years” (Da Gama, Wholenote Magazine). After touring the West coast of Canada with his band, Trevor began composing music for his second album release, Sonnet 18, on TQM Records. Scheduled for release in the fall of 2019, the record features Seamus Blake on saxophone, Rick Rosato on bass, and Adam Arruda on drums. Notably, Trevor has shared the stage with Seamus Blake, John Abercrombie, Donny McCaslin, and many other Canadian artists, namely Sophie Milman, Phil Dwyer, Mike Murley, Kelly Jefferson, Tia Brazda, and John Macleod. Currently, Trevor is completing a Master’s Degree in Music Composition at York University and is part of the Music Faculty at Humber College.
This jazz guitar trio is top shelf single malt. They just play wonderfully. Playing for
the joy of playing—-what a concept! Well done.

This superb Toronto-based trio features Trevor’s fantastic Guitar, with Neil Swainson
on Acoustic Bass and Adam Arruda on Drums, and they KICK it … even on the slower
pieces, there is some fundamentally VOLCANIC jazz action going on here! This trio is
one of the best I’ve listened to (yet) in 2016.
