Tyler Summers Trio

After a several year hiatus spent delving into individual projects, the Tyler Summers Trio is back with their sophomore release, due out October 27th. Canadian born, Nashville-based saxophonist Tyler Summers (Galaxie Rising Star at the National Jazz Awards) co-leads the group, which includes New York City's Matt Wigton, and former Maynard Ferguson drummer and musical director, Stockton Helbing. The band originally formed in 1999 at the University of North Texas, where all three members enjoyed time playing with the Grammy-winning One O'Clock Lab Band. The Tyler Summers Trio went on to record their debut album "Trinity", and "Freedom and Jealousy" with Canadian trumpeter Paul Tynan. The latest release, a special edition album entitled "Live at the Cellar", features two of Canada's premier jazz musicians, Brad Turner and David Braid. The group officially celebrates the release of the album on tour this fall with stops in Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal.
