Though young, Vassil Petrov is an established perfomer with a wide prosfessional interests in jazz and pop music. He graduated from the Academy of Popular music in Sofia in 1990. He has taken part of many jazz and popular music Festivals, both as a student and as a profesional performer.He has also many recordings and appearances on Bulgarian National Radio and Television and is the best-selling recording artist in Bulgaria with his recording in 1992 and 1994. In addition to this he has performed in live Helsenki, Oslo,Stockholm, Belgrad and at the Winter Olympics in the Lillehammer, Norway. He has released a number of successful albums, including Vassil Petrov Sings Gershwin (1999), Something Different (1997), Duet with Roumen Toskov (1995), Petrov Sings Parmakov (1995), The Other (1994), Vassil Petrov Jazz & Blues (1994). He is busy working, playing different stages from clubs and piano bars, to prestigious concert venues and festivals. He has given guest performances in Sweden, Finland, the countries of former Yugoslavia, Norway and the USA, among others.
Works with the best known Bulgarian jazz performers and composers Roumen Toskov, Vassil Parmakov and Ventseslav Mihailov, the Acoustic Version formation and the Big Band of Vili Kazasian. Has had joint projects with opera singer Christina Angelakova, American jazzmen Dan Moretti and Phil Provenzano, and many others.
