William Greco
Considered by the public and critics one of the most interesting pianists of his generation, William Greco offers an exceptional versatility with his piano music. “Music has no limitations of gender or practice…” says William Greco, born in 1987. He achieved his degrees with honors, cum laude, under the mentorship of Roberto Bollea and Benedetto Lupo, at the ‘Nino Rota’ Conservatory in Monopoli, Italy. He was awarded several absolute prizes at various piano concerts, earning also the Premio Venezia at the Teatro La Fenice and at Premio delle Arti 2013. Greco gave numerous concerts in Italy and abroad, performing with various orchestras. He recently performed at the Fifth Beethoven Concert and the First Brahms Concert, and made some recordings for the Vatican Radio. Next to his classical music career, Greco nourished his passion for Jazz, attending a rigorous academic path and subsequently receiving prestigious recognition at concert performances. Greco was granted an award at the Berklee College of Music di Boston for his extraordinary musical talent. He won the first prize, the audience award and the Premio Libertà, at the 6th National Competition ’Chicco Bettinardi’, in Piacenza. Among his mentors P.Iannone A.Jasinski, F.Bidini, M.Marvulli, G.Lenoci. Greco performed in the major Jazz clubs and Theatre in Italy and Europe, next to Raffaele Casarano, Paolo Fresu, Marco Bardoscia, Giuliano Sangiorgi, Massimo Manzi, Fiorella Mannoia, Attilio Zanchi, Massimo Morriconi, Franco Simone, Gaetano Partipilo, Luca Aquino and others. Greco has performed as a sideman in numerous discographic collaborations.
