Xavier Breaker Xavier Breaker

It was in the church around the age of five when Xavier Breaker started playing the drums. Then later on in his life, he realized that music was what he was made to do. Xavier received a B.M. degree in Performance from the University of South Carolina where he studied under Scott Herring, Jim Hall, Bert Ligon, and Craig Butterfield. He recently began playing for many artists such as Mike Allemena, Skip Pearson, and most recently Joe Sample, along with Randy Crawford, Howard Hewitt, and Lalah Hathaway. Xavier's influences are his father, Tony Sims, Brian Blade, Greg Hutchinson, Jeff Tain Watts, Jimmy Cobb, Elvin Jones, Tony Williams, Dennis Chambers, Sonny Payne, Jeff Elmore, and gospel drummers Calvin Rodgers and Ladell Abrams.

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
