YOLA WESOLOWSKA - composer, singer, pianist, performer . She studied music at the University of Lodz, from which she graduated in 1980. Master's thesis written under the guidance of the great Polish music theorist Prof. Franciszek Wesolowski. She studied composition with prof. Bernard Pietrzak and classical singing with prof. Izabela Kobus. She completed postgraduate studies at the Academy of Music in Wrocław.
Participation in competitions, festivals and concerts in Poland and abroad incl. Jazztoldtales Festival in Bologna, B. Okudzhava Festival in Moscow, Weimarrer Dreieck in Germany to name a few. As a composer collaborates with theatres incl. the Studio Theatre in Warsaw, the New Theatre in Lodz, Rampa Theatre in Warsaw, the Grotowski Centre in Wroclaw. The composition and a performance of vocal music for the exhibition and a documentary film about great Polish poet Tadeusz Rozewicz Composed and directed multimedia projects incl. ,,Passages'' (music, dance, pantomima, video art ) lyrics by Sharifa Malik ,,I'm not from here” inspired by the work of Simone Weil, ,,Bezciągłość “International Festival Mandala ,,Musica Humana”, a music performance, ,,Impromtu - Chopin”, ,,Tema @ variacioni con peccato”- music-dance performance ,,Suite for 4 voices, a dancer and sounds”, Wroclaw 2010; ,,Where is the word” by S. Beckett- monodrama with music- Poland and Italy ,,Two Faces of Music”, Wroclaw, 2011. ,,Hommage a Bruno Schulz”, at the White Stork Synagogue in the Days of Mutual Respect Wroclaw, 2012 3xW – the music, theatre and dance performance inspired by the book ,,Kosmos” by W. Gombrowicz , at the Festival of Witold Gombrowicz, 2014 In 2015 she realized the play Fun enjoyable and useful Continued ..... inspired by the work of T. Różewicz and photos by J. Stankiewicz. In 2016, in cooperation with European Capitol of Culture in Wroclaw 2016 she implemented a unique project Sound of ecology....” In 2016 participated in 10 Polish Arts Festival in Limerick (Ireland). During the festival, she conducted workshops VOICE Project Encounters ended the show on a stage.
