Yuki Ishiwata

Well, if you try to describe Yuki and Cuties in one sentence... Yuki and Cuties is a band that brings your home the happy vibes of tropics! Y&QTs was formed by Yukiko Ishiwata (Yuki), the singer/songwriter of the band in 2009. Born and raised in Japan, Yuki dreamt to become a healer when she was 9. When she saw a singer from Okinawa on TV at the age of 13, however, it changed her life completely. She realized that a singer could heal people by exchanging her/his love with the audience. Building basic foundation in Classical music at high school, she started singing in bands when she was 16 year old. Then she moved to NYC and studied music theory and Voice at Queens college. Since then, Yuki has been performing around NYC area and has previously appeared at Carnegie Hall as a group a few times. Her style varies from 20th century art songs to world music, such as French pop, Bossanova, and Japanese folk music. After her long long musical journey through various styles, Yuki finally started writing her songs. Allong with that , she finally found her loving Cuties!! Kazuya Ishijima (a.k.a Caz)-guitar PJ Roberts- bass Naomi Kan (a.ka.Nao)-Sanshin Yuichi Iida-djembe,various percussions You will just relax when you listen to Yuki’s singing. So come out and feel her love at her show!

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
