Yvonne Moneira Yvonne Moneira

Yvonne Moneira is a Jazz Vocalist, Flautist, and Songwriter with 25 years of performance experience. Trained as as classical flautist from the age of 8, Yvonne began singing professionally upon graduation of college.

She has performed at many prestigious venues in Washington DC, Maryland, and New York City, including the legendary Blue Note, Birdland, Don't Tell Mama's, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Bowery Poetry Club, 18th Street Lounge, Twins Jazz, Bohemian Caverns, Columbia Station, and Utopia.

Born in Chad, Africa as the daughter of a Peace Corps delegate and a native African woman, and subsequently raised by her Chilean step-mother, Yvonne has always been drawn to latin and african rhythms. Her international and cultural influences can also be heard in the various languages in which she sings (French, Spanish, Portuguese, and English).
