Zeek Duff

Introducing LG ”Zeek” Duff - Guitarist, Composer, Arranger, Recording Artist, MIDI Expert (applied Musical Instrument Digital Interface), and Performer - with over 50 years of experience playing and recording professionally with noteworthy artists and his own aggregations, featuring a broad variety of styles, original compositions, and arrangements of familiar popular music. While Zeek’s music industry experience includes years of doubling on keyboard synthesizers and bass guitar, he is now focused on recording and performing Fingerstyle Jazz Guitar.

Zeek’s instrumental music is obviously highly polished, with a concentrated emphasis on unique full and complex guitar techniques from the likes of geniuses such as Chet Atkins, Lenny Breau, Baden Powell, and others, combined with mellow but often rhythmic grooves from R&B to Latin Jazz, lush harmonies, heartfelt melodies, with occasionally a “New Age” spiritual type of atmospheric ambience, and spontaneous improvisation on guitar. Whew. The sounds he produces will range from solo guitar with one small amp, to full orchestrations using extensive, state-of-the-art MIDI equipment to produce the “live sound” of a large live band. His music is well mixed through a very high quality PA system with Electrovoice speakers, capable of startling clarity and richness from low volume levels for small rooms and conversing clientele, to as large a venue desired and/or as needed for sound pressure levels to provide maximum musical focus.

Zeek’s live presentation will include songs from his 2004 CD release “Midnight Roses,” now available at all major online music retailers and digital download sites, as well as many other musical works. All songs he will perform are of the same professional quality production, including many new compositions and new arrangements of some old Jazz Standards. The only parameter to bear in mind is that Zeek’s music is intended primarily for adult enjoyment, and a peaceful aesthetic in your respectable setting. Listen…

What a superb collection! This guy's experience comes across in spades with a production to match. His touch is exquisite and I particularly like his use of sliding diminished chords (a device I favour). Highly recommended to anyone who appreciates fine playing on a strong set of tunes.
