Zevious
Meanwhile, Jeff had been touring the US extensively with his instrumental prog-metal group Dysrhythmia. Coming off the road in 2005 after extensive touring, Jeff settled in the New York area. With all three parties interested in starting a straight-ahead jazz project, Zevious was born. The group's first gig was at Lounge Zen in Teaneck, NJ during the summer of 2006.
After a few months of gigging in New York and Philly, the group quickly moved away from straight-ahead jazz covers and jumped right into writing original music, combining their unique jazz sound with progressive rock grooves, tech metal, afrobeat style vamps, free improv, and complex song forms. Zevious' first album showcases the evolution of their style, and the group has plans to tour and begin work on another album in 2008.

Ben Monder's remarkable Oceana (Sunnyside), one of 2005's best albums, couldn't have been performed by a guitarist with anything less than complete mastery of his instrument, yet avoided any posturing front man mannerisms. ...

Well, as final as anything can be when you get into the van with a bunch of gear and travel 12,000 miles across the USA and back over a month and hope that the venues will actually be there when you arrive (not to mention an audience).
This is your chance to see a great, truly hot NYC harmolodic/punk-jazz group in ...
