Born: May 7, 1969 Primary Instrument: Bass, electric
Born in May, 1969 I grew up in a small town called Malå. That's in the north of Sweden where the winters are cold and the summers are short... At the age of 13 me and my twin brother formed a band together called Boogart. Before that I was learning to play guitar and drums, but then I switched to bass. The band Boogart turned out to be quite a successful band over the years, and it's still up and running. I also studied in a music school for one year when I was 17 and then worked as a music teacher the year after. After finishing my military service at age 19, I toured all over Sweden with Boogart for 2 years. I then decided to leave the band and move to Vienna where I began my studies at American Institute of Music back in -91. I studied electric bass for Günther Kirchteiger and upright bass for Wayne Darling. Other inspirational teachers for me were Les Wise, Wayne Brasel an Jeff Boudreaux. In Vienna I also played on records and did concerts with various bands. It was at that time I was introduced to the music of John Patitucci and he has been the biggest inspiration ever since. I graduated with a professional diploma and moved back to Sweden where I have the opportunity to be working a lot as a freelance musician. I'm also a full time member of some bands; Regnrock, BugariBasso, Two Brothers, Hylands and the fusion band Ominox. Learn more about these exciting projects on the musicproject-menu!
I live in the beautiful town Umeå, located in the north of Sweden. A city which has a lot of music to offer for every kind of taste, there are also a lot of good musicians living here.
I have always had private students, and over the years I've written a lot of material for electric bass. My intention is to publish a book in the future. I find that the more I teach, the more I learn!
Last year I worked as a bassist in the musical Sugar at the Theatre of Norrbotten, and it continued until new years eve. Later this year I will also work at the Theatre of Västerbotten, together with a group of very talented musicians.
In the future I hope to get a record deal with my own music and I also hope to be able to keep on playing my bass forever!
