Yuka Tadano is one of the rising talents in the jazz world on both acoustic and electric bass. Born in Ibaraki, Japan, coming from a musical family, she picked up the violin at the early age of 6. She started playing the electric bass at age of 17. While having a successful career in the Japanese music scene, Yuka was eager to pursue jazz and decided to move to the United States in August 2004 to study at the prestigious University of North Texas where she holds a Bachelor's Degree and Master’s degree in jazz studies.

Soon after moving to the United States, Yuka switched from being primarily an electric bassist to becoming an acoustic bassist. Since the transition to acoustic bass and to the United States, Yuka had become the premier female bassist of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and has a growing reputation in DFW and Japanese music circles. In August 2009, Yuka was given a position at the University of North Texas as a teaching fellow where she was the director of the 7 o'clock lab band....
